Butterflies are Free

We have this beautiful plant with mauve flowers near our front door and last week it was smothered with yellow butterflies. Their colour coordinated perfectly with the flowers and I had fun trying to get a photo. I found that Butterflies move very fast so I focused on the flowers and finished up with a blurry butterfly. Anyhow it was a fun and relaxing way to spend half an hour on a Summer’s Day. (For Gardeners this plant  is Duranta Repens – Geisha Girl and originates from Japan).

Abbey Fay is 1

  IMG_2454  IMG_2476

Our beautiful little grand daughter Abbey turned 1 last week.  We gave her her first bike and she received loads of other great presents including a magical Doll’s House from her Mum and Dad. On Valentine’s Day she partied hard with friends and family and pink was the colour of the day. We all had a great time and Abbey loved her pink cake.IMG_2468

Inspired by Klee

Klee-Inspiration

I loved participating in an on line challenge this week which asked us to produce a piece inspired by the Artist Paul Klee. I got carried away and had a lot of fun playing  in Art Rage using water colour brushes and gloop  pens. Then I exported this into Photo Shop Elements and added an Art Doll by Ruby Rynne.  I also used one of Ruby’s background papers and blended this into my piece. I love the result but I think Paul Klee would be spinning in his grave :)  I do think he would have loved Art Rage though.

Happy Australia Day

I love this photo which I took at Noosa a couple of years ago. It was great to be down by the river with so many people having Australia Day 2007 079Barbies and just chilling out and enjoying the day.  Today we were invited across the road for a special Morning Tea with the neighbours and tonight we will have a sausage sizzle. Very hot and humid here today so we are watching the cricket and the Australian Open Tennis. A good way to spend the day :)

Relax

IMG_2404

Relax – well we are trying to but we are `on the market’. During the last 2 weeks we have had 3 `Inspections’ and 2 `Open Houses’ but so far no buyer. In the meantime we are working hard at keeping everything close to perfect and on 5 acres in the Queensland Summer this is a challenge. On the bright side the garden is looking wonderful with everything blooming and the lawns bright green and the house is a pleasure to be in. Not a speck of dust to be seen and fresh flowers everywhere. We just wish we had staff LOL.

Happy Birthday Louise

IMG_2398  Here is Louise with Abbey, 2 gorgeous girls! Abbey will be 1 next month.

Last week Louise celebrated her Birthday with a heap of friends and family. We had an excellent Barbecue brekkie, went home for a sleep and then after lunch we headed out to the boardwalk at Caloundra to watch the amazing Kite Surfers and eat gourmet ice creams. Lou and I had Violet Crumble ice creams which were yummy :)

Just Testing

June 2009 002

I have just installed Windows 7 and it seems that it can help me do my Blog Posts :) If this works I am really excited as it saves a whole lot of work and even makes it fun.  As I have just bought a new computer I am now going through the slow process of moving everything and organising it all in Windows 7 libraries.  I found this photo of our beautiful cat Lewis who died in August last year. Here he can be seen packing himself in our bag just before we went on a holiday, he was such a beautiful cat with loads of cattitude and we miss him so.
