On Saturday Alan, Joel and I set off for Kilkivan to spend the day and watch the end of the Annual `Great Kilkivan Horse Ride'. This is a ride over a distance of about 40k with over 1000 riders taking part including some with carriages. To avoid congestion the ride is divided into several trails with different degrees of difficulty, each with a Trail Boss. At around 4 p.m. they all meet up and ride into town, up the main street and through to the Showground. Here is a photo of the horses coming down the hill behind a large banner, quite an awesome sight.
