Chrissie Delight to You All!!

Chrissie-2010

We will be joining family at Caloundra for Chrissie. A large group of extended family right beside a swimming pool :) The advantage of a crowd is that each person has only a small contribution to make but we all have a wonderful time. Our youngest Grandkids are now 4 and nearly 2 and they are totally caught up in the magic so we will be too. I think we could be up very early Christmas Day. So peace and love to you all and I hope you all have a special day. I will be working in my volunteer job at Meals on Wheels tomorrow morning but we finish at 1.00 pm after all the meals are prepared, cooked, delivered and the kitchen left immaculate. I’m glad I don’t have to cook on Christmas Day :)

Everything Old is New again

IMG_3006

Now we are staying here we decided to put up our `Ship’s Bell’ which used to belong to Dad.  Brother Phil gave it to him as a gift about 25 years ago and had it specially engraved. Now it is on the wall beside our front door and looks great all polished up. It will also be really useful as a front door bell :)

Our other new but old addition comes from Sister Patti. She has moved out of `Number 56’ and coincidentally we are also `Number 56’ so we now have her beautiful ceramic numbers on our letter box. Now I can see that our post needs painting so one job leads to another. So we have another little piece of family which is both beautiful and useful. Thanks again Patti :)

We are Staying

Find-Your-Path

It is now almost 12 months since we put our house on the market. I did this piece sometime in January when we were having lots of people looking at our property.  Now we have decided to stay so the answer to my question is `right here’ LOL.  We have used the experience to re assess our lives and direction and we have made lots of changes. We have also made a few decisions about things we plan to do around the house and garden. So it hasn’t been a wasted exercise, more an interesting side trip on our journey and like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz we have found there is no place like home :)

A Visit to the Movies

Harry-Potter

Yesterday I grabbed my broomstick and hat and headed off to Noosa again to the Movies to see the latest Harry Potter Movie. Having read the book (well all the books), and loved it I was prepared to love the movie and I did.  I have read a variety of reviews, both positive and negative but I just ignored them all and went with an open mind. I really could not believe how quickly the time went, I enjoyed every second, but especially `the dancing’ and the animated fable and of course the magical scenery :)

A Gift from Heaven

IMG_2969

Monday this week was a perfect day – perfect temperature, clear skies, sunshine, absolutely stunningly perfect and the weather man told us on Monday night that it had been `a gift from heaven’ and he was so right. Alan and I decided to head down to Noosa and we had morning tea sitting at a table by the river. We took a thermos and some fruit cake. Star jasmine is blooming everywhere in Noosa as it is at our place (see above), and this beautiful fragrance perfumed the air and made the day even better. Alan then met his brother for a picnic lunch by the water and I headed off to the movies at Noosa Junction to see `Eat, Pray, Love’. I loved the movie as I loved the book and I will be buying the DVD :)  Then I popped into Vinnies and bought a dress and a skirt (the dress is a Trent Resort label as new and cost $2.00). So far so good and it cost me $10.00 total.  On the way home we both decided that we needed a bottle of wine to complete the day and we found one on special for $6.00. So we had a really special day and spent around $30.00 including the movie. Life is good :)

Spring is Here!

About 2 weeks ago 2 tiny finches built a nest in an Ixora shrub in our driveway right by our front door. A fairly busy public place but the mother finch laid 2 small eggs and last week they hatched out. Now Mum and Dad are busy feeding them and we know that Spring is really here :)

Camellia

I have been telling my sister Patti about how I love using Windows Live Photo Gallery and Windows Live Writer to make Blog Posts – its all so easy and fun. Anyway this is a photo of a Camellia which I have enhanced and framed using Windows Live Writer – really cool.
