I started reading a really absorbing novel today, I would never have bought it, I borrowed it from the library. It's called `1921' and is set in England and France in the aftermath of World War 1. It is written by Adam Thorpe. It is beautifully written. I liked this phrase `Covering sheets of thin-lined foolscap, his novel talked to itself for page after page', and this one `Khaki never let it forget it was on you, like starched moss'. I also loved this observation `Beauty is not a thing to see but an emotion to feel'.
So that is my thought for today :)
