Last weekend 4 of us from our Gympie RDA Centre went down to RDA at Arundel Park on the Gold Coast for a Carriage Driving Workshop. It was conducted by a very experienced Carriage Driver and RDA Assessor from New South Wales. On the down side it poured with rain for the whole weekend :( but on the upside Arundel has a covered arena so we were able to do quite a bit under cover. We all stayed in the on-site accommodation which was excellent and included a lounge and kitchen. Our meals (including wine with dinner :) were catered for by 2 wonderful RDA volunteers from Arundel and on Saturday evening we had a beautiful meal with good company. Lots of talk about horses of course, but loads of other things as well. This photo is of Alan driving Blinkie, a really cute part Shetland Pony.
Arundel Park is also home to over 100 kangaroos, they are very friendly and came up very close so I could photograph them. All in all it was a really enjoyable, relaxing and informative weekend.
