I am still continuing on with my family Heritage pages and this one was done from a photo of Doreen taken in Hamburg in 1947. I have quite a few more of this vintage so I think I will do another page, mainly because Doreen looks so happy and carefree in these photos and that not how I remember her. Anyway this photo was taken when she was in Hamburg with the British Navy in May 1947. She was then about 19 and 1/2. I think she really enjoyed this time, having an adventure away from home, being overseas, making a lot of friends and having the opportunity to use her German language skills which were excellent. She used to talk to me a lot about it. The writing and the words are hers, scanned from the back of the photo.
